Craps is a much sought after pastime that is present in numerous casinos. It has its origins in time immemorial. It is known to have been played thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt. The term craps is a misnomer, but the shooter really only has this shell. Craps is made with a special kind of throwing tool with six facets. Each edge has a dot (from 1 to 6) on it. A table with high sides is used for the game. They do not allow the projectile to fly outside the playing area.
Craps is based on the Guessing Principle. Players bet on a certain number, which will be the result of throwing the dice against the side of the table. The player who rolls the dice is designated as the ‘shooter’. Throwing is done according to special rules. If the rules are not respected, the dealer disqualifies the contestant from wagering and removes him from the table. The dice must be thrown so that they hit the opposite side of the table from the player. Sometimes the projectile flies outside the playing area. In this case, the dealer checks the condition of the item and then decides whether it can be used again. If necessary, the dice are replaced.
Up to 21 participants at a time can bet on the outcome of the throw. If the shooter loses, the dealer assigns the next player in turn to take his place (he is to the left of the loser). Many people try to use strategies and mathematical calculations to win at craps. The methods do not work as well as with a pack of cards. The final result depends largely on the physical skills of the dice thrower.
There are two stages in craps:
The first stage consists of throwing the dice to identify a number. If a range of 4-10 is rolled, Point is taken as the basis for further play. If a range of 2-4 or 12 is rolled, Craps occurs. The shooter is declared the losing side. The contestant to the left of the thrower gets the right to throw. A roll in the 7-11 range results in a Natural situation. The shooter becomes the winner of the round, gaining the right to throw.
A Point Roll is taken when the dice roll a number 4-10. After an extra roll a total of 7 points (or the set number) is required. If you get the required number after the roll, the shooter is declared the winner. If the required number is missing after the roll, the player loses, and the right to roll the dice goes to the new participant.
Craps has introduced several betting options:
This is an incomplete list of betting options. The game is only seemingly simple. Entire schools exist, with master classes given by dice-throwing experts. You cannot succeed at craps without a good feel for the ball, physical skills, and, of course, good luck with the throw.
